Manarola and the Big Crib

Advent means Cribs.

In the village of Manarola in the Cinque Terre, near La Spezia, they claim to have the largest crib in the world.

On the Hill of the Three Crosses opposite the village, they build a Crib which takes up most of the hill.

The figures in and immediately around the Crib are as big as a man. There are over 300 other figures and 9000 small lights. It comes to life at night. There are processions to the Crib.
